RFP for Website Development

Company Description

The Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW) is the only national pan-disability organization focused on employment. Our mission is to promote and support meaningful and equitable employment of persons with disabilities. We build partnerships, develop skills, share knowledge and influence attitudes.
CCRW’s long-term goal is for Canada to be a fully inclusive nation where persons with disabilities thrive in employment.
CCRW provides leadership in programs and services for job seekers with disabilities and businesses committed to equity and inclusion. As a comprehensive information source for disability and employment resources, CCRW works with businesses of all sizes in all industries and offers support to individual job seekers.

Project Description or Intent

Our current site was built in 2015 and it shows. It’s our goal with a new plan that we’re putting into place to refine our brand appearance, offer valuable content, engage with clients and potential clients.

CCRW is looking to hire a web developer to assist with the implementation of an accessible website, including design to the WCAG 2.0 – Level AA requirements.  We are looking for a web developer with proven experience in creating accessible websites.


  1. WCAG 2.0 – Level AA
  2. Ensure SEO rankings are not compromised/are improved
  3. Project Plan, outlining the understanding of CCRW’s stakeholder-base, milestones, timeline:
    • Discovery Period – Initial Meetings & Planning
    • Content Production
    • Design/Style Tiles
    • Front-End Development
    • General Development
    • Content Implementation & Quality Assurance Testing
    • Final Review by CCRW
    • Budget
  4. Design Principles/Features:
    • Easy to navigate
    • Business-centric
    • Conversions and Social Media integration
    • Responsive
    • E-commerce
    • Library
    • Membership login
    • Ability for CCRW to self-manage the site once deployed
    • WordPress preferred


  • Five years of website development experience
  • Successful completion of at least 5 accessible website projects – list details including: client organization, accessibility benchmark(s) used for the project, and URL of the site
